ABA Mediation Week Kicks Off with Panel of Women in Dispute Resolution

To kick off the law school’s celebration of American Bar Association Mediation Week 2014, the law school’s Center for the Study of Dispute Resolution, Women’s Law Association and Alternative Dispute Resolution Organization are sponsoring Stories Mediators Tell: Perspectives from Women in Dispute Resolution.”

This event begins at 4:30 pm on Monday, October 13, in the Hulston Hall Courtroom on the MU campus, with a keynote presentation and question and answer session featuring Ruth V. Glick, past chair of the ABA Dispute Resolution Section and founder of Women in Dispute Resolution.  Following the keynote, a panel of local women who have served as mediators, advocates in mediation and program administrators will convene to discuss the spectrum of their experiences.  Panelists include Professor S.I. Strong; Vickie Davis, claims litigation attorney at Shelter Insurance; Marsha Fischer,’96, from the Office of the General Counsel of the University of Missouri System; and Anna Lingo, ’89, who is an attorney in private practice and advocate in mediation.

A reception will follow the event in Hulston Hall.
