October 16th, 2018

Professor Erika Lietzan recently presented her current research at the sixth annual fall conference of the Center for the Protection of Intellectual Property, at Scalia Law School, George Mason University.  This year’s conference focused on intellectual property for the next generation of technology.

Professor Lietzan focused on fecal microbiota transplants and other therapeutic innovations that begin in the academic clinical setting. Her presentation explored the challenges facing policymakers who want to encourage firms to invest in developing and testing conventional pharmaceutical presentations of the same innovations.

Professor Lietzan teaches both intellectual property law and food and drug law, and she focuses her scholarship on innovation policy in the life sciences.
