Professor Schmitz Publishes Article on Using Blockchain Technology to Help Refugees

December 3rd, 2018

Professor Amy J. Schmitz has published an article with Jeff Aresty on the use of blockchain technology to empower refugees who are currently seen as stateless, and thus invisible, under the law.

The article, “A Rose by Any Other Name….Empowerment Through Identity,” was published in Law360 (2018).  It explains how refugees may benefit from blockchain technology to establish a digital identity that links them to employment and education.
