The School of Law’s Veterans Clinic and Entrepreneurship Legal Clinic were recently featured in an article written by a client in the Columbia Missourian. The piece was published under the “From Readers” section, where anyone from the community can submit a story.
Vernon Diggs, the author, detailed his positive and uplifting experience with the Veterans Clinic. In 2015, on the recommendation of a friend, Diggs contacted Wecome Home Inc., which in turn referred him to the law school.
The clinics “…are helping me to build a screen-printing business and upgrade my discharge status to be able to receive services through the VA, get my Purple Heart and Soldier’s Medal,” Diggs wrote. “I have been trying to change my discharge status since 2003, being denied every time. I will probably die before I will be seen by the VA or receive my medals, but maybe this will help other veterans be given a square deal after they have served and sacrificed.”
