Professor Amy Schmitz was recently named to the university’s Campus Mediation Service Committee by the MU Faculty Council. Her three-year term begins September 1.
The committee acts as an independent oversight body for the Campus Mediation Service, including setting policy, and overseeing its director and operations. The service provides access to an informal, voluntary process for faculty and staff who experience workplace conflict. Participants are able to work confidentially with trained, impartial mediators to quickly address conflicts, and are able to shape their resolutions, rather than being dependent on a third party to impose an outcome.
Paul Ladehoff, director of the law school’s LLM program, serves as director of Campus Mediation Service.
