Professor Abrams Writes About How High School Coaches Can Fight Racism Among Players and Fans

Since 2011, Professor Doug Abrams has written nearly 300 essays on New York-based, one of the nation’s leading youth sports websites. Several of these essays – including his most recent one – concern societal issues in sports.

His most recent essay – “High School Coaches Teaching About Racism” – concludes “that words and actions can sting, that interscholastic athletes do not shed their personhood when they leave the locker room for the competition, and that bigotry is never ‘part of the game.’”
