Professor Schmitz Meets with Consortium Applying Data Science to Dispute Resolution

Professor Amy J. Schmitz engaged in meetings in Montreal, Canada, with the Conflicts Analytics Lab, which is a research consortium on the application of data science to dispute resolution. The lab program is a joint initiative of Queen’s-Smith, Columbia Business Analytics and HEC-Paris Smart Law. Its flagship project is an AI-powered tribunal for small claims.

The purpose of the meetings was to brainstorm ways that the University of Missouri Law School and the Center for the Study of Dispute Resolution may collaborate on projects that help poise our students for practice in a future likely to see increasing intersections between law and technology.
