Professor Amy J. Schmitz recently gave a presentation, “Ethics and Efficiency in ODR Design,” at the Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) Forum in Williamsburg, Virginia. During this trip, Professor Schmitz also participated in a special workshop on “ODR in the Courts” at the National Center for State Courts, which is also in Virginia. Professor Schmitz also participated in additional meetings as part of these events in her larger role as co-chair of the American Bar Association ODR Task Force and her involvement in assisting efforts as a fellow of the National Center for Technology and Dispute Resolution. These are pivotal times for U.S. courts and they look to promote efficiency and access to justice through new “e-courts” and judicial ODR, more generally.
