Professor Amy J. Schmitz gave a presentation on her new book with Colin Rule, The New Handshake: Online Dispute Resolution and the Future of Consumer Protection, at the International Chamber of Commerce’s Equal Access to Justice and Online Dispute Resolution Conference in Paris, France.

During the talk, Professor Schmitz explained how currently available systems, including the courts’, are not providing adequate redress for consumers, and proposed means for building online processes for providing free, fast and fair resolutions that work across borders within eCommerce platforms and consumer protection portals.
