
Professor Amy J. Schmitz has published her article, “Expanding Access to Remedies through E-Court Initiatives,” in the Buffalo Law Review. The article is a comprehensive look at the use of technology for resolving disputes using Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) in the courts in the United States and throughout the world. This has become an important issue, as claims processes move online. Courts are beginning to limit, or even close, their traditional in-person means for resolving claims regarding matters such as small claims and traffic tickets. Instead, courts are handling these cases online. Even divorce cases are moving online in some jurisdictions. This article takes a close look at this digital revolution in the courts.
