Professor S.I. Strong recently appeared on the Jim Engster Show to discuss problems that political polarization raises for deliberative democracy in the United States.

The segment was triggered by Professor Strong’s article, “Alternative Facts and the Post-Truth Society: Meeting the Challenge,” 165 University of Pennsylvania Law Review Online 137 (2017), which discusses empirical research into the causes for pervasive political misperceptions and offers various alternatives for overcoming those difficulties, including through the use of techniques developed by dispute resolution specialists.
