Professor Strong Publishes Article on Legitimacy in International Arbitration

Professor S.I. Strong’s most recent article, “Truth in a Post-Truth Society:  How Sticky Defaults, Status Quo Bias and the Sovereign Prerogative Influence the Perceived Legitimacy of International Arbitration,” 2018 University of Illinois Law Review 533 (2018), addresses the increasingly contentious debate about the legitimacy of the arbitral process from a unique interdisciplinary perspective.  In this analysis, Professor Strong combines elements of psychology, economics, philosophy and political science to consider the unconscious elements that affect determinations about legitimacy.  In so doing, Professor Strong provides innovative insights into important questions of civil justice.
