Professor Strong Travels to Montreal

Professor S.I. Strong recently traveled to Montreal, Canada, to undertake research involving legal reasoning in commercial disputes.  The project, which is funded through a $25,000 grant from the AAA-ICDR Foundation to MU’s nationally acclaimed Center for the Study of Dispute Resolution, considers differences and similarities in legal reasoning across the arbitral-judicial, national-international and common law-civil law divides, using various types of empirical methodologies.  When completed, the research will be published as a book entitled Legal Reasoning Across Commercial Disputes:  Comparing Judicial and Arbitral Analyses (Oxford University Press).
