Professor Ben Trachtenberg spoke at the spring conference of the Illinois American Association of University Professors (AAUP). The conference theme was “Defending Academic Freedom, Shared Governance and Tenure in an Ever Changing Academic Environment.” Professor Trachtenberg’s talk, “How Shared Governance Served Free Speech at Missouri: A Case Study,” discussed collaboration between Mizzou administration and faculty (including Professor Chris Wells and Professor Bob Jerry of the law school) to craft sensible regulations at Mizzou that protect free speech.
