The Department of Criminal Justice and Procedure at the University of the Western Cape appointed Professor Rod Uphoff as an Extraordinary Professor for a three-year term.

UWC values the important contributions made by extraordinary professors to the life of the university. This designation acknowledges academic experience and expertise. The professor is expected to contribute to the academic program through research, teaching, post-graduate supervision and consultancy.

Professor Uphoff is the Elwood L. Thomas Missouri Endowed Professor Emeritus of Law and has served as the director of the University of Missouri South Africa Educational Program since 2006. He also directs the Mizzou Law study abroad program at UWC in Cape Town, South Africa.
