Tigers for Troops helps Dent County veterans via videoconference

During a July 22 session, Tigers for Troops assisted over a dozen veterans in Dent County to obtain VA health care services.

Tigers for Troops is a partnership of the University of Missouri Extension and the MU School of Law Veterans Clinic and helps connect veterans to vital resources through one-on-one consultations by videoconference. It is funded through a grant from the Missouri Housing Development Commission. and focuses outreach to communities without nearby veterans services.

On July 22, MU law students and Veterans Clinic staff met with participants gathered in the Salem Community Center through videoconference. These meetings resulted in four veterans enrolling in the VA health care program, two obtaining expanded or additional VA health care services, four accepted as new Veterans Clinic clients, and several others receiving referrals to other organizations.
