About Claire Hausman
Hello! I’m Claire Hausman and am 1L here at Mizzou Law. I attended Ole Miss for my undergraduate degree and received a degree in Liberal Arts with majors in English and History. I’m from Saint Joseph, Missouri, which is about an hour north of the Kansas City area.
I’m so glad I was able to go far away from home for my undergrad experience. It allowed me to meet new people, experience an entirely new place, and challenged me to step outside of my comfort zone. As my time in Mississippi came to an end, I considered many different options for law school. I applied to eight schools and really wasn’t sure what I was looking for.
I toured Mizzou Law school the fall of my senior year and loved it. I had done hours of research on various schools, their statistics and claims to fame. When I walked in to Hulston Hall, the one thing I realized I hadn’t thought to consider was community. More than anything, I wanted a welcoming group of people who I could share the next three years with. Sitting in on classes and walking through the halls, I could see there was an amazing community here and I wanted to be a part of it.
As a born and bred Missourian, I’m excited to represent my state in the field of law after graduation. The law is a very important calling and I am looking forward to practicing in a few years. Until then, I will be in Hulston Hall. I’m happy to speak with anyone beginning their law school journey. Please don’t hesitate to reach out!
