About Melanie Ewy
Hello! My name is Melanie Ewy and I am a third-year student here at Mizzou Law. I was born and raised in Springfield, MO where I also attended undergrad at MIissouri State University (Go BEARS!). After changing my major several times, I finally decided I was interested in law school and received my degree in Socio-Political Communications.
During my time at Missouri State, I was able to take several law courses, as well as witness the inter-workings of a firm as a runner. I loved the way I was learning in my law classes and the idea of being a life-long learner. Seeing the way that the attorneys at my firm balanced working with their clients and doing independent research really showed me the possibilities of having an ever-changing, but rewarding career path.
When I was applying to law schools, I knew I wanted to stay close to my home in Missouri. Friends and family have always been an extremely important part of my life, and I was worried I would lose the feeling of community that I had back home. However, when I toured Mizzou Law for the first time I knew that Hulston would be my home away from home. The small, family-like community that has grown within the law school here has made me feel welcome and supported from day one. The faculty and staff are invested in our futures just as much as we are, and the other students want each other to succeed as well. Mizzou Law fosters a positive environment while also providing the credibility of a rigorous program.
I know the application process can be stressful, so if you have any questions about Mizzou Law or law school in general, please feel free to send me an email! Hope to see you on a tour!
