About Madison Vaughn

Hello Hello! My name is Madison Vaughn, and I am a current 2L at Mizzou Law. I am originally from Rome, Georgia and graduated from Trinity College – Hartford with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Human Rights Studies. Although I am not completely sure what I want to do beyond law school, I am interested in international law, human rights law, and art law.

I came right out from undergrad where I found my passion for law and advocacy through studying abroad in Cape Town, South Africa for four and a half months. I interned with two nonprofits, working with both men and women behind bars, learning their experiences and working to bring positivity into their everyday routine. Through this immersive experience, I not only broadened my scope about what I know about mass incarceration, but I also learned a lot about myself. If you didn’t know, Mizzou Law has a summer study abroad program in Cape Town, which I would highly recommend; Cape Town is a must-see!

I chose to move far away from home again and come to COMO because of the love and support I felt during my very first tour here at Mizzou Law. The community here genuinely wants to know you and be here for you every step of the way. Competition and a high-stress environment is non-existent here – Hulston and Columbia are a wonderful place to be. Please reach out if you have any questions about life at Hulston, Cape Town, being a non-Missouri resident, or just want to chat! I hope you will join us here at Hulston next year.
