About Matt Warren
Hello, My name is Matt Warren, and I am a current 1L student here at Mizzou! I grew up in O’Fallon, Illinois, and earned my undergraduate degrees in Biology and Spanish at Butler University in Indianapolis. Although I went to college thinking I wanted to be a physician, I quickly fell in love with government policy through our student government association. During the summer of my Junior year, I was able to do undergraduate research for the University of Notre Dame in Ecology and finally decided to shift my focus to law school. The world needs more attorneys from STEM and people willing to make a positive change–and Mizzou Law is just the place for that.
I applied to Mizzou on a whim because it seemed close enough to home, however when I visited I was welcomed into the full extent of what it truly means to be a student in Hulston Hall. The whole school is passionate about student success, from our Dean teaching a first-year class and wandering the building just looking to strike up conversations, to our professor’s meeting sometimes weekly with students as advisors, and the students being supportive and fostering an environment of acceptance and love for all. Mizzou law is a place where you are not just an LSAC number or undergraduate GPA, you are a person who can and will be pushed to grow while learning the law.
While here in Columbia I like to stay active by going on trail runs on the MKT trail or the Grindstone Creek area. I also am a big foodie and love to explore new restaurants and places to snack here in Columbia. I am currently looking into practicing environmental law or intellectual property law and I am active on our AIPEL, Phi Alpha Delta, and Rec League teams. In my free time, I continue to volunteer for Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis as well as a mentor my Undergraduate Chapter of Delta Tau Delta.
