Pratt joins Lathrop Gage in Kansas City

Garrett Pratt, ’17, recently joined the Tax and Employee Benefits team at Lathrop Gage. Pratt advises clients regarding federal income tax and employee benefits matters and the tax ramifications of various business transactions. He also assists clients with forming and dissolving legal entities, corporate reorganizations and advises on tax issues arising from the operation of partnerships and limited liability companies. Pratt also counsels charitable and other tax-exempt organizations on obtaining and maintaining tax-exempt status. Prior to joining the firm, Pratt served two years as a law clerk for the Hon. Brian T. Fenimore, United States Bankruptcy Judge. Pratt received his LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Missouri – Kansas City, 2019. He received his J.D., with a concentration in Transactional Tax Law, from Mizzou Law in 2017, where he served as managing editor of the Business, Entrepreneurship & Tax Law Review, and his B.A. magna cum laude, in Music, from the University of Missouri, 2016.
