Skouby appointed associate circuit judge

Missouri Governor Mike Parson appointed Jacob R. Skouby, Jr., ’87, as associate circuit judge for the 40th Judicial Circuit, serving Newton and McDonald counties. Skouby fills a vacancy created in October when Kevin Selby, an associate judge, was appointed to a new trial division judgeship for the circuit. Skouby’s term extends until 2022.

Skouby, of Joplin, has served as the prosecuting attorney for Newton County since 2008, when he was appointed by Gov. Matt Blunt. He was elected to the post in 2010, and reelected in 2014 and 2018.
