About Matthew Swords

Hi everyone! My name is Matthew Swords, and I am a current student here at Mizzou Law. I am originally from Gardner, Kansas, and I attended Kansas State University where I majored in both Accounting and French. I sort of always knew I wanted to attend law school after I finished my undergraduate studies, but it was solidified after I took some classes related to business law and tax at K-State. That said, I have interests in tax, corporate, and general transactional law. 

The choice of a law school is hard, and there were a ton of factors that went into my choice to attend Mizzou. When I came for my law school tour, though, during my senior year of college, I was sold. The atmosphere here is one of collaboration and comradery, and it was so easy to see even on a short tour. Everyone I met, from the admissions team to the professor teaching the class I sat in on, treated me with kindness and genuinely wanted to know about me and my interests.
