Cordell & Cordell, an international domestic litigation law firm focusing on representing men in family law cases, recently named Kim Gray, ’02, among six new partners to join the firm’s leadership team.
Gray is in the Kansas City office of the firm. During law school, she worked in the Family Violence Clinic and served as Guardian ad Litem for children in need of care.
“Through that experience I saw how I could benefit people going through tough times in their lives,” Gray said.
As a result of her background prosecuting child abuse and neglect cases, Gray is a strong advocate for children.
“Having dealt with kids who have been abused, I am able to see how a contentious custody dispute can put children in the middle and negatively affect them,” she said. “Children need both parents actively involved in their lives, so I work hard to ensure my clients attain equal parenting time.”
Each person Gray represents has their own unique needs and objectives, so it’s of the utmost importance that the client and his attorney work very closely to achieve the best possible outcome.
“Good communication and a close working relationship are the keys to achieving that goal,” she said.
“We’re proud to be able to recognize and reward several of our attorneys in this way during a time that continues to be unique and challenging, but is a clear indication of their leadership, legal acumen, and value to the firm,” Cordell & Cordell CEO, Managing Partner Scott Trout said.
Despite the challenges the COVID-19 pandemic has posed for law firms, Cordell & Cordell has stayed true to its ethos of adapting to adversity and celebrating its team members who have helped grow Cordell & Cordell into what it has become today.
“One of the key practices that has continuously driven the firm’s success during the last 30 years has been our ability to identify like-minded attorneys who are dedicated to client service above all else,” Mr. Trout said. “We strive to establish and maintain an environment that attracts legal professionals to make a lifelong career with our team.”
