Hulston Hall 2019 Summer Reading Club

A summer reading club isn’t just for kids. Hulston Hall staff, faculty and students are all welcome to join a grown-up version this summer. We will only be reading fiction, so you can rest your law brain for the summer! Meetings will be at locations within walking distance.

The upcoming dates and books are:

  • Thursday, June 27 at 5:30 p.m.
Book: The Power by Naomi Alderman: In The Power the world is a recognizable place: there’s a rich Nigerian kid who lounges around the family pool; a foster girl whose religious parents hide their true nature; a local American politician; a tough London girl from a tricky family. But something vital has changed, causing their lives to converge with devastating effect. Teenage girls now have immense physical power – they can cause agonizing pain and even death. And, with this small twist of nature, the world changes utterly.
Location: Las Margaritas has opened a new restaurant right off campus on the corner of 8th and Elm. If cool, we can sit on the patio or go inside for dinner or chips and guac.
  • Wednesday, July 17 at 5:30
Book: Children of Blood and Bone
This is a YA novel that won numerous awards and has a sequel coming out later this year.
