MU Law Veterans Clinic Participates in Lathrop Gage Lunch and Learn

The MU Law Veterans Clinic recently participated in a lunch-and-learn event honoring veterans, hosted by Kansas City law firm Lathrop Gage. Lathrop Gage diversity and inclusion director Vanessa Vaugh West organized the picnic-style lunch which featured a salute to the firm’s veterans and military family members. Keith Starr of Military Matters, an organization devoted to pairing veterans in need of legal assistance with attorneys who will work with them on a pro bono basis gave the first presentation of the event. Sara O’Connor, Support Specialist, from the Veterans Clinic gave the second presentation. She gave an overview of the Clinic’s programs, including rural outreach through Tigers for Troops and the free CLEs the Clinic provides to lawyers throughout Missouri to encourage more pro bono work in the field of veterans law.

The MU Law Veterans Clinic will follow-up on their visit to Lathrop Gage by holding a free CLE on Veterans Law in March 2020.
