Ten Members of the Missouri Law Community to Receive Women’s Justice Awards

At the 20th Annual Women’s Justice Awards event on May 3 in St. Louis, 10 women from Mizzou Law are among the 51 women who will be honored.

The Leaders of Tomorrow are recognized for leadership, professionalism and passion for making a difference in the justice system or legal profession. 3L Abigail Williams (pictured) is among this year’s honorees.

The Public Service Award recognizes women who work on behalf of a nonprofit organization, government  agency or the judiciary; or have made their mark in education: Deborah Daniels, ’77, associate judge, 13th Judicial Circuit Court, Columbia; and Kelly Broniec, ’96, associate judge, 12th Judicial Circuit Court, Montgomery City, Mo.

The Corporate Award recognizes women serving as general counsel or in-house counsel, advising businesses on complex legal matters: Randa Rawlins, ’82, executive vice president and general counsel for Shelter Insurance Companies in Columbia, Mo.; Lynette McCloud, ’97, associate general counsel for Edward Jones in St. Louis; Mary Moorkamp, ’87, chief legal and external affairs officer, corporate secretary at Schnuck Markets, Inc., in St. Louis; and Sally Terrace, ’86, vice president and deputy general counsel at BJC HealthCare in St. Louis.

The General Practitioner Award recognizes women who, as attorneys, do it all, handling multiple practice areas with skill: Jessica Martin, ’11, of Martin & Wall LLC in Ozark, Mo.; and Laura E. Al-Shathir, ’03, of Capes Sokol in St. Louis.

The Litigation Practitioner Award recognizes litigators who have made their careers in the courtroom – criminal or civil, representing plaintiff or defense: Amy Crouch, ’99, partner at Shook, Hardy & Bacon LLP in Kansas City.
