Third-Year Student Named Liaison to the Missouri Lawyers’ Assistance Program

Third-year Mizzou Law student Jessica Chinnadurai was recently chosen to serve as a liaison between the Missouri Lawyers’ Assistance Program (MOLAP) and the law school.

Mizzou Law is the first school in Missouri to form a student liaison program with MOLAP, and Chinnadurai is the program’s first law student liaison.

The goal of the law student liaison position is to raise awareness about the prevalence of mental health and substance abuse issues in the legal profession. As a part of her duties as liaison, Chinnadurai shares information about MOLAP’s resources to help Mizzou Law students struggling with mental health and substance abuse issues.

MOLAP is a free and confidential counseling program available for members of The Missouri Bar, immediate family members who reside with them and law students, to help individuals overcome personal problems such as substance use, depression, stress and burnout.

MOLAP’s line for confidential help is 1-800-688-7859. Individuals seeking assistance may call any day and time of the week.
