About Danielle Barnette

Hello, I am a first-generation law student from Kansas City, Missouri! My academic journey began at the University of Missouri, where I pursued a dual major in Political Science and History, accompanied by a minor in Black Studies. This institution holds a special place in my heart, as I was actually born in Columbia, and my family connections run deep here.

While I’ve always had a thirst for new experiences and the exploration of different cities, I initially hesitated when considering the University of Missouri for my law school education. However, let me share with you that this decision has filled me with an overwhelming sense of contentment. The support and warmth I’ve received from the professors and staff within the law school have truly touched my heart. It’s a sense of support I haven’t felt since my high school days. The pandemic seemed to disrupt the opportunity for me to connect with my peers and professors during my undergraduate years, leaving me feeling somewhat isolated in my educational journey.

One of my biggest concerns about law school was the possibility of encountering competitive and unsociable classmates. Yet, my experience at the University of Missouri has been the complete opposite. I’ve encountered a community of professors and fellow students who are not only incredibly encouraging but also wholeheartedly invested in my success. I could not be happier that I chose to continue my educational journey here at the University of Missouri. In the end, it’s not just about the institution, but the people who make it a home and a family. I am thrilled to be part of this remarkable community, and I look forward to what the future holds as I continue to thrive in this inspiring environment.
