Mizzou Law currently has openings for tenure-track or tenured positions, the director of our Family Violence Clinic, an associate trial practice or trial practice professor position, an associate teaching professor or teaching professor of law position.

Tenured or Tenure-Track Positions

We are seeking candidates with a strong commitment to scholarship, teaching, and public service; a strong academic record; and either legal practice experience or advanced academic training. A JD or PhD in a related field is required.

Our hiring needs are flexible, and we invite candidates in any subject matter to apply. We are especially interested in applicants planning to teach Criminal Law/Procedure.

Director of the Family Violence Clinic

The University of Missouri School of Law is seeking dynamic, qualified applicants for the position of Director of the Family Violence Clinic.

The director will teach law students the theory and practice of family law, supervise research and scholarship, engage with students in applied leadership in advancing justice, and engage in community outreach related to the clinic’s mission. The Director is also responsible for the day-to-day running of the Clinic, including fundraising and supervision of clinic staff.

The director will have the title of Associate Clinical Professor of Law or Clinical Professor of Law. The position is a non-tenured, clinical track position. The director must possess a JD from an accredited law school and be admitted to practice law in Missouri or be able to obtain such admission. Preference will also be given to candidates with experience as a practicing attorney or judicial clerk.

Trial Practice Professor

We seek a candidate who is passionate and reflective about teaching, is dedicated to student learning, and will work collaboratively with other faculty.

Teaching Professors

The University of Missouri School of Law invites applications for an Associate Teaching Professor of Law or Teaching Professor of Law. The successful candidate or candidates will teach in the 1L legal research and writing program. This is a six-credit, two-semester, graded course sequence (three credits each semester), including Legal Research & Writing in the fall and Advocacy & Research in the spring. We seek a candidate who is passionate and reflective about teaching, is dedicated to student learning, and will work collaboratively with other LRW faculty.

Applicants must have a JD from an accredited law school. Candidates also will be evaluated on having a strong academic record, excellent legal research and writing skills, and experience in the practice of law. The ideal candidate will also have experience teaching legal research and writing. Appellate practice or other law practice in Missouri is valued.
