The MU School of Law offers a collegial environment, reinforced by a small student body and a low faculty-student ratio. The intimacy of this setting, coupled with reasonable cost, consistently high bar passage rates, a network of alumni around the globe and access to top scholars in the legal world, make MU Law one of the best values in the nation.

Meet a Current Student

Hello, my name is Missy, I'm a 3L and I grew up in a tiny town outside of Wentzville, MO.  I’m a first generation college student and I went to undergrad at Truman State University in Kirksville where I majored in Biology.  I graduated in 2002, after that I moved to St. Louis.

I’m a non-traditional student in a couple of ways.  I’m married and have spent the last few years working in the mortgage division of a bank.  After feeling like my opportunities for advancement were very limited I chose to attend law school.  In deciding on a law school I applied to several universities and visited a few but none of them came close to the experience that I had at Mizzou.  The admissions staff was unbelievable.  They knew my name when I visited and took the time to answer any question I had.  They made my decision to come here a very easy one.

After surviving the first two years of law school I am still very pleased with my decision to attend Mizzou.  My professors are very approachable and willing to help in my understanding of difficult concepts.  The atmosphere in Hulston Hall is very collegial.  My fellow students are quick to offer assistance when needed.  I love the small class size here at Mizzou, with only around 150 people in the 1L class I never feel lost in the crowd.  It’s been very easy to get involved in student organizations like Phi Delta Phi, AIPEL, and committees of the student bar association.

I came to Mizzou because I felt that it would provide me the best possible legal education and ultimately, I just felt at home here.
