Tuition and Fees
Tuition and fees are $5,100 for Mizzou Law students and $5,500 for non-Mizzou Law students. These fees include tuition and all university-required fees for six (6) credits, course materials, a bus tour of Cape Town, and field trips to the District 6 museum, Goodwood Prison, Wynberg Magistrates Court, the Cape of Good Hope and the Stellenbosch wine region. Each student must have a comprehensive health care policy that covers international travel. The University of Missouri International Center mandates that all students who study abroad purchase a health insurance policy designed for study abroad students from the four UM System campuses. The cost is about $75. This cost will be billed separately and it will be in addition to the fees listed above.

Housing
Housing will be arranged in apartments near downtown Cape Town. Our apartments will be a short walk or cab ride from many restaurants, shops and Cape Town’s bustling nightlife. Students will live in modern, furnished apartments with maid and linen services. Students should expect to pay between $500 – $900 depending on whether they have a single or shared bedroom.
A housing deposit will be paid directly to the University of Missouri School of Law by Feb. 1, 2025. The balance of the housing deposit must be paid by May 1, 2025.
Food and Other Personal Expenses
Students are responsible for their own food and personal expenses. The apartments will have fully equipped kitchens. Students cooking their own meals will significantly reduce their daily expenses. Students not choosing to prepare their own food will find that meals in local restaurants are cheaper than in the U.S.
Airfare
Students are responsible for their own travel arrangements to and from South Africa. We will provide you assistance in obtaining a ticket. By May 1, 2025, students are expected to provide Laura Coleman with a copy of their itinerary.
