About Isabel Oliver, 1L
Hometown: Boulder, Colo.
Undergrad: Knox College
Major: Gender and Women’s Studies
My name is Isabel Oliver and I am originally from Boulder, Colorado! I attended Knox College in Illinois and fell in love with the Midwest. When I started applying to law schools, Mizzou Law quickly rose to the top of my list because of its tight-knit community.
Coming from a small liberal arts college, it was important to me to find a school that prioritized community over competitiveness. I feel very fortunate to have found just that at Mizzou! As a first-generation law student, I often felt confused and unsure about the admissions process and what to expect as a 1L. The amazing team here at Mizzou provided incredible support throughout that journey. My transition from undergraduate to law student was so much smoother because of how welcoming and inviting everyone is here.
Outside of serving on the ambassador team, I’m on the executive board of OUTLaw and serve on the General Committee for the Women’s Law Association (WLA). I look forward to sharing my experiences with future students who will hopefully be in my shoes next year!
