2023 Tim Heinsz Race Raises Record Money for Scholarships

Despite the colder weather this weekend, Mizzou Law’s 19th Tim Heinsz Race was a resounding success, raising $63,390 for the Tim Heinsz Scholarship Fund— a record in the history of the event. The atmosphere was lively as students, faculty, alumni and community members gathered at the starting line just outside of Hulston Hall. Mizzou Law Blazing Trails for 150 Years

To honor its rich tradition of excellent legal education over its 150 years of existence, Mizzou Law is proud to launch its newest project, the Mizzou Law Trailblazers timeline. The timeline honors dozens of “trailblazers” throughout the school’s past and present who achieved amazing things and are continuing to make an impact; it also highlights several notable events in Mizzou Law’s long history. Mizzou Law Receives $1 Million Gift to Honor Former Professor

Stephen F Hanlon, ’66, has pledged a $1 million gift to the University of Missouri School of Law to create the Professor William P. Murphy Scholarship. The scholarship, honoring former Mizzou Law professor William Murphy, will support students seeking to become constitutional lawyers. Stephen F Hanlon speaks about Professor Murphy at the gift announcement in Jesse Hall. Nearly a decade ago, Jose Dario Rodriguez, LLM ’15, realized the importance of commercial relations and the need to use alternative mechanisms for dispute resolution. After her family was involved in a land dispute resolved by court-supervised mediation when she was young, Hong Hu, LLM ’01, was inspired to pursue a career in dispute resolution. “That is probably where the initial motivation [to pursue ADR] came from,” Hong said. Thanks to her talent, hard work, and education at the University of Missouri, Hong now serves as general counsel for a large, multinational corporation in the Asia region. The 17th annual Tim Heinsz 5K, 10K & Jim Devine Dog Walk & Bob Bailey Bike Ride is set for Saturday, April 17 at Twin Lakes Recreation Area in Columbia.
