Two Mizzou Law students earn scholarships to support research

Two Mizzou Law students have been awarded Trans World Airline (TWA) scholarships for the 2026-2027 school year. TWA scholarships fund undergraduate and graduate students who perform or plan to perform research addressing environmental issues. Scholarships are awarded annually to students based on their academic accomplishments and research interests. Mero Libimbi, a rising 2L at Mizzou Law, received the scholarship to help fund her research examining how environmental and social conditions contribute to health disparities among Black women, with a focus on chronic illness and maternal health outcomes. Rising 2L wins Miss Missouri Pageant

Tabitha Crain, a rising 2L at Mizzou Law, is the new Miss Missouri after winning the annual pageant over the weekend. Crain is a 24-year-old from Strafford in southwest Missouri. She is a University of Missouri School of Law student who competed in the pageant for the third time. She earned a $14,000 scholarship and will represent Missouri in the Miss America competition later this year. Myuah Hamilton, a 3L at Mizzou Law, was recently awarded the Leaders of Tomorrow award from Missouri Lawyers Media. Mizzou Law student research earns third place at graduate/professional council forum

Mizzou Law 3L Georgia Bronson, an executive member of the Business, Entrepreneurship, and Tax Law Review, presented her research: “Hey Girlie, Want to Sell Your Soul?” How the U.S. Can Counteract Predatory Cult Activities Through the Lens of Fraudulent Business Schemes at the 41st Research & Creative Activities Forum (RCAF) 2025. Student Bar Association wins Mizzou award

The Student Bar Association was awarded Large Group of the Year at Mizzou’s Student Involvement Awards. The award is given to the recognized student organization (with membership over 120 individuals) that is recognized as best exhibiting an overall commitment to serving the members within the organization, the University of Missouri and surrounding Columbia community.  Receiving the award was SBA President Sophia Marcolla and Treasurer Adam Thomas.

Class of 2027 has highest credentials ever

Incoming 1Ls at Mizzou Law have achieved something no other Mizzou Law class has ever achieved. Their credentials (GPA and LSAT scores) are the highest ever on record for an incoming Mizzou Law class. Median GPA for the class of 2027 sits at a stellar 3.75, which is the highest mark in history at Mizzou Law. Further, the median LSAT score for the class sits at an excellent 160, which ties the highest mark ever. Congratulations to the promising Class of 2027!

Mizzou Law students finish second in national moot court competition

Mizzou Law 3Ls Isaac Keller and Macgyver “Mac” Newton finished second overall in the national Thurgood Marshall Memorial Moot Court Competition hosted by the Federal Bar Association. Keller and Newton competed against 40 teams from top law schools across the country. In addition to their runner-up finish, Mac Newton received the “Best Oralist” honor in the final round and second-best oralist in the preliminary rounds of the competition.
