Mizzou Law Announces Exciting New Faculty Hire

Officials at the University of Missouri School of Law are thrilled to announce a new hire that promises to bolster the Mizzou Law faculty this summer. Professor C. Eric Hintz will join Mizzou Law as an associate professor of law. He will begin work in Hulston Hall on July 1. Professor Hintz will be joining Mizzou Law from Shapiro Arato Bach LLP, a New York litigation boutique, where he has represented clients in criminal appellate, post-conviction, and civil litigation matters. Professors Trachtenberg and Alexander Publish Free Criminal Procedure Casebook

Professors Ben Trachtenberg and Anne Alexander have published “Criminal Procedure: A Free Law School Casebook” with the CALI eLangdell series. The series includes casebooks made available at no charge for digital files, and at the cost of printing for paper books. Authors include faculty from law schools such as Yale, Texas A&M, and the University of Washington. Mizzou Law student wins entrepreneur competition, $15,000 in seed funding

On top of his responsibilities as a law student, parent and president of the University of Missouri Graduate Professional Council, Mizzou Law 3L Parker Owens sets aside time for one of his favorite hobbies: Lego. However, Owens does more than just play — in July, he created Parker’s Brick Builds, a business which offers custom Lego kits to retailers and online to individuals. Classes of the 70s Show Out

An exciting upset against Tennessee wasn’t the only notable event in Columbia this Veteran’s Day weekend — Mizzou Law welcomed home alumni from the classes of the 1970s for a reunion on Friday and Saturday. The reunion featured a cocktail party, a tailgate, and walking tours of the law school’s former location, Tate Hall. Professor David English Named to the Estate Planning Hall of Fame

David English, the William F. Fratcher Missouri Endowed Professor and the Edward L. When Gerardo Pico, ’00, came to Missouri with his young family in the late 90s for his LLM in Dispute Resolution, he never imagined the many doors it would open for him in and beyond the legal fields. Housing heroes: New program to support veterans experiencing homelessness

With the support of a $150,000 grant from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the University of Missouri School of Law Veterans Clinic is aiming to continue this trend here at home with a new program designed to further empower veterans in taking steps out of homelessness.
