In need of CLE credits? Desire to connect with ambitious law students? We have just the opportunity for you!

BOA is pleased to announce the 2024 Fall Competitions: Negotiations, Mediation, and Client Interviewing & Counseling. All competitions will take place after a thirty-minute judges’ meeting. Competition rounds typically last between forty (40) minutes to one (1) hour in addition to the judges’ meeting. Judges will be informed about CLE credit type offerings following registration as they may vary with each competition.

Make room in your calendar for one or more of the following dates! Exact times will be posted closer to the competition date, but please note that all competitions will take place in the evening. Once you have decided on the date(s), please fill out this short registration form to notify us of your interest.

Negotiation | September 17-19, 2024

Students bring their negotiating skills to the table to resolve a complicated dispute in the manner most favorable to their client, while still focusing on a mutually beneficial solution. This competition focuses on the process of negotiation and the way each team handles the situation presented.

Mediation | October 8-10th, 2024

A comprehensive opportunity for law students to sharpen their advocacy skills! The competition offers students an opportunity to implement classroom theory, such as practical lawyering skills, negotiation, public speaking, client representation, and creative problem-solving by simulating the mediation process. The mediator will be scored as well!

Client Counseling & Interviewing | October 28-30th, 2024

Step into a simulation of a law office consultation in which law students, acting as lawyers, are presented with a typical client matter. The student lawyers must interview with a person playing the role of the client and then explain how they would proceed further in the hypothetical situation.
