One of the largest and most active organizations at the University of Missouri School of Law, the Women’s Law Association (WLA) is dedicated to supporting and empowering women in the legal profession through service, professional development, and advocacy.

WLA organizes impactful service initiatives, including the Period Drive, which collects menstrual products for those in need, the Angel Tree, which provides essential items to families during the holidays, and the Annual Charity Auction, the organization’s largest and most well-known fundraiser benefiting local charities.

WLA also hosts professional development events such as the Women in Law Career Panel, often in collaboration with the Career Development Office, as well as workshops on emailing and interview preparation to help law students navigate their careers.

In recognition of Women’s History Month, WLA raises awareness of women’s issues in the law through events like the Intersectionality Speaker Event, which explores how gender intersects with other identities in the legal field, and the Faculty Mock Trial, which showcases advocacy skills while addressing critical legal issues affecting women.

Through these initiatives, WLA fosters a supportive community, advances gender equity, and prepares its members for success in the legal profession.
