Cindy Bassett

About Cindy Bassett

Cindy Bassett is the director of the University of Missouri School of Law Library. She has been a law librarian at the Law School since 2007 and has specialized in helping law students use electronic resources and understand the law. In her current position, she builds and manages the collection of print and electronic resources law students and faculty use for their scholarship. Cindy guest lectures on a variety of legal research topics including medical research for lawyers and legislative research. Prior to joining the law school faculty, Cindy was the Collection Development Librarian at the Missouri State Library and a public librarian at the St. Louis County Library.

Professionally, Cindy has served both regionally and nationally in law library organizations. Cindy served as President of the Mid-America Association of Law Libraries (MAALL) and as member-at-large. Nationally, she has served as the Chair of the Legal Innovation and Technology SIS of AALL. She is currently a member of the University of Missouri Libraries Copyright Committee, participates on the Emerging Leader Award Jury for AALL, and is a member of the Law School’s Diversity Committee, where she chairs the One Read Sub-committee.
