Judge Cristian M. Stevens was appointed as a United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Missouri in July 2025. He sat as judge of the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District, from November 2021 to July 2025. Before that, he served as First Assistant Attorney General and Deputy Attorney General for the Criminal Division at the Missouri Attorney General’s Office. He also was an Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri for approximately 15 years. Previously, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Pasco M. Bowman II on the Eighth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals from 1998 to 1999 after graduation from the University of Missouri School of Law. Judge Stevens has been engaged in the private practice of law at several points in his career. He teaches the Missouri Attorney General’s Office Seminar with Tom Albus.
