Kurt Larson

About Kurt Larson

Professor Larson joined Mizzou Law in 2024, and is a practicing trial lawyer in Springfield, Missouri.  Kurt has served as a mediator, arbitrator and a guardian ad litem to other lawyers and litigants, and serves as a commissioner on the 31st Judicial Commission under the Missouri Plan.  Kurt brings his practical experience from the practice of law to our law students, and he current teaches Voir Dire, designed to provide students with hands-on experience in selecting a jury. 

In addition to his day job, Kurt founded Safe & Sober in 2004, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a mission of preventing youth substance misuse.   Safe & Sober has reached 1.3 mission students with its free prevention-focused videos and curriculum used by schools, homeschool groups, and community organizations throughout Missouri and in most states across the country.
