About Martha Bradley Kleinhesselink

Martha (Bradley) Kleinhesselink works as an attorney in the Veterans Clinic representing veterans and their families before the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense. In addition to representing clients, Martha supervises law students, teaches the law school’s doctrinal Veterans Law course and manages the Medical/Legal Partnership between the Mizzou School of Law and School of Medicine. Martha previously served as the inaugural Ben and Carolyn Thomas Fellow.

She is originally from Farmington, Missouri, and graduated summa cum laude from Central Methodist University in Fayette, Missouri. Martha received degrees in Political Science and Criminal Justice. She was President of the Student Government Association and captain of the CMU Eagles track and field team. Martha earned her JD from Mizzou Law where she participated in the Veterans Clinic, was a Note and Comment Editor for the Business, Entrepreneurship and Tax Law Review, and a teaching and research assistant to Professor Amy J. Schmitz.

Martha discovered her passion for helping veterans at a young age and entered law school with the hope that she would use her law degree to give back to servicemembers and/or veterans in some capacity. After working in the Mizzou Law Veterans Clinic as a law student, under leadership from Angela Drake and Brent Filbert, Martha’s passion was solidified and she became committed to serving those who have bravely served our country.

Martha is admitted to practice law in the State of Missouri, and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. She is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims Bar Association, the National Organization of Veterans Advocates, and is a VA Accredited Attorney.

Martha lives in mid-Missouri with her husband, Paden, daughter, Scottie, and goldendoodle, Dolly. In her free time, she enjoys traveling to historic parts of Missouri, watching track meets, and being involved in her local church, The Crossing. She is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Columbia, where she is on the Board of Directors, and the Columbia Chamber of Commerce Women’s Network.
