Multiple Mizzou Law faculty members will be presenting at this year’s annual Southeastern Association of American Law Schools (SEALS) conference in Jacksonville, Florida at the end of July.

On top of faculty presentations, Professor Gary Myers serves as President of SEALS while Professor Charles “Rocky” Rhodes serves as Secretary. Faculty participation in the conference is as follows:

Rocky Rhodes

• Discussant on the panel entitled “Bridging the Generations: How Mid- and Senior-Level Faculty Can Support Newer Colleagues.”
• Discussant in a constitutional law workshop considering “the Constitution and Assaults on the Federal Judiciary.”
• Discussant at a Constitutional Law workshop entitled, “The Administration’s Assault on Academic Institutions: Universities and Academic Freedom.”
• Moderator for a Civil Procedure discussion group that will be examining noteworthy aspects of the dual (federal/state) American judicial system.

David Gamage

• Panelist on a panel entitled, “(Re)Making Tax: Addressing Tax Policy Challenges from Multiple Angles”
• Discussant on a panel entitled “U.S. Domestic Tax Policy, 1981–2025: The Beatings Will Continue Until Morale Improves.”

Rachel Wechsler

• Discussant on the panel entitled, “Regulating Sin: A Thing of the Past?”
• Mentor at a new scholars workshop on Criminal Law and Culpability
• Discussant in a group considering, “Old Harms, New Urgency: Reimagining Justice in a Time of Reckoning.”

Shruti Rana

• Participating in a Constitutional Law workshop entitled, “Revisiting the Trump Administration’s Use of Force: International and Constitutional Law Issues.”

Eric Hintz

• Participating in a discussion group on constitutional criminal procedure.
• Presenting a paper at a works-in-progress workshop on Criminal Law.

Renee Henson

• Presenting her paper, “The Algorithmic Playground and the Jurisprudence of Irresistibility.”

• Presenting his paper, “Bivens Juries” at a workshop on Constitutional Law.
