Brent Filbert Named NIMJ Fellow
University of Missouri School of Law Veterans Clinic Director Brent Filbert has been named a fellow at the National Institute of Military Justice (NIMJ). Professor Filbert was selected as a fellow of the institute based on his abilities and expertise in the fields of military law and veterans law. Henson to Join Mizzou Law Faculty
The University of Missouri School of Law continues a spring of growth with the exciting announcement that Renee Henson will join the Mizzou Law faculty this summer. Professor Henson will serve as visiting assistant professor of law at Mizzou Law. Professor Henson arrives at Mizzou from Stinson LLP, where she practiced as a business and commercial litigation attorney representing clients engaged in complex matters including trademark and copyright infringement and products liability lawsuits. Paul Litton Named New Dean of the MU School of Law
University of Missouri Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Latha Ramchand announced today that Paul Litton has been named dean of the MU School of Law. Litton has served as interim dean of the school since July 2022, following the departure of Lyrissa Lidsky. He will assume his new duties on June 1, 2023. “In his 17 years at the university, Paul Litton has demonstrated an unwavering commitment not only to student success and legal scholarship of the highest caliber, but also to graduating and supplying the state of Missouri with the legal talent we need,” Ramchand said.

Mizzou Law Announces Another Exciting Faculty Hire
Officials at the University of Missouri School of Law are excited to announce another exciting hire to bolster the Mizzou Law faculty this summer. Professor Alexander Gouzoules will join Mizzou Law as an associate professor of law. He will begin work in Hulston Hall on July 1. Professor Gouzoules arrives at Mizzou Law from Loyola University-New Orleans College of Law, where he served as a Westerfield Fellow. Mizzou Law Veterans Clinic Names New Director
Officials at the University of Missouri School of Law are pleased to announce the hiring of Brent Filbert to join the faculty as the new director of the Mizzou Law Veterans Clinic and associate clinical professor. Professor Filbert rejoins Mizzou Law after spending several years as a supervising attorney within the MU Veterans Clinic. In recent years, Professor Filbert has served as the director of Military Law at the Veteran Advocacy Project. 2023 Tim Heinsz Race Raises Record Money for Scholarships
Despite the colder weather this weekend, Mizzou Law’s 19th Tim Heinsz Race was a resounding success, raising $63,390 for the Tim Heinsz Scholarship Fund— a record in the history of the event. The atmosphere was lively as students, faculty, alumni and community members gathered at the starting line just outside of Hulston Hall.
