TRAINING OUTSTANDING LAWYERS

Since 1872, the University of Missouri School of Law has trained outstanding lawyers who have served as legal leaders throughout Missouri and beyond. In addition to the JD program, Mizzou Law offers an LLM in Dispute Resolution and an LLM in American Law. No matter where you are in your law journey, you’ll find your place here. With four clinics, 10 dual degree programs, eight certificate programs and countless elective courses, you’ve got options. Students can also contribute to legal research in one of our three law journals, earn experiential learning credits through one of our four clinics, and gain international experience in our study abroad program. Degree Programs

Juris Doctor (JD)

The juris doctor (JD), or law degree, is a three-year graduate program. Students must complete 89 credit hours of law courses, roughly one-half of which are required courses.

LLM in Dispute Resolution

The first of its kind in the United States, the Mizzou LLM in Dispute Resolution is offered in-person and online and is designed to assist lawyers and other dispute resolution professionals with skills to manage conflict through the design and implementation of appropriate, effective and fair dispute resolution processes.

LLM in American Law

The Mizzou LLM in American Law provides an introduction to the American legal system and U.S. legal practice for students who earned their first degree in law outside the United States.

Dual Degrees

Mizzou Law has partnered with schools and colleges across the University of Missouri campus to offer 10 dual degree options for students interested in pursuing multiple graduate degrees simultaneously.

Certificates

For students interested in concentrating in specific subjects and areas of study, Mizzou Law offers nine certificates that utilize the expertise of faculty across the University of Missouri campus.
